Why can I not plan a route / does my plan fail?You may be given an error message such as; “Planner server error” or “We could not calculate your plan” etc. These are indeed not very specific because in most cases it isn’t very clear to the planner how a route could be made possible. The most common settings that make a plan fail: When you have selected a car, a type of charger is selected automatically. Sometimes you need to add other types of chargers such as CCS or Level 2 to make the plan work. Have you chosen to prefer or exclude a specific charging network? Changing the setting to “Prefer” rather than “Use exclusively” will often be the solution that makes a plan work. Have you added something in the settings for “Avoid on route”? For instance, some routes may not be possible to plan without making use of Highways, Ferries or other alternatives that one may choose to avoid.

How can I save or edit addresses for Home and Work?You can save two addresses to easily be accessed as Home and Work. Input any address just like you would when planning and make sure the planner finds the correct location on the map. Then click the input field again. Now click the “SET” button next to ‘Work’ or Home’. If you’d like to change the locations you’ve set as Home or Work, first delete the currently saved address by clicking the ‘X’ to the right of ‘Home’ or ‘Work’ in the list. Now you can type in an address in the input field and save a new location the same way as initially. Does the place not have a street address? Then you may instead drop a marker on the map. This is done by right-clicking on the map in the web version or long-pressing the screen in the iOS/Android app. Once the marker is placed, you’ll get the option to ‘Set as Home’ or ‘Set as Work’.

What kind of chargers can I use?Tesla Tesla has two kinds of chargers. The old one is Tesla SC and the new one is referred to as Tesla CCS. Tesla SC is used in the United States and Canada and Tesla CCS in Europe. If you have a CCS outlet or a CCS adapter you can also charge at other charging stations that have CCS chargers. Some countries lack Tesla chargers so you need to add CCS chargers to your settings to make the plan work. In some cases, it is also needed Level 2 chargers. Other EVs Most cars have CCS outlets. These cars can use both CCS chargers and Level 2 chargers. In some countries, you can also use Teslas CCS chargers. Some cars like Nissan Leaf, Peugeot iOn, Citroën C-Zero, and Mitsubishi i-Miev are using CHAdeMO chargers.

How can I add or remove a saved vehicle?Save a new vehicle Go into: Settings > Car model (click the selected car right below ‘Plan settings’ Click the button ‘Select a new car’ at the bottom of the list Specify the vehicle model Now, when the correct model is selected, click it once more in the list of settings Right below the named vehicle model, you’ll see three buttons; ‘Edit settings’, ‘Live data’, and ‘Save’. Click ‘Save’ to save the vehicle. Remove a saved vehicle Go into: Settings > Car model (click the selected car right below ‘Plan settings’) Select the vehicle you wish to remove Click 'Edit settings' At the bottom of the vehicle settings menu, you'll find the option to 'delete' ⚡️ Do note that non-premium users are limited to one saved vehicle on their account. Users who subscribe to ABRP Premium may save and link multiple vehicles.

How can I prefer, avoid, or exclude specific charging networks?If you have a membership with a certain network and prefer or dislike a certain network, you can set custom preferences for them. To do this, go into: Settings > Chargers & networks > Avoid and prefer Type the name of the network, and when you've found the correct network, set a preference level for it. Prefer: high The highest preference level. Networks with this level will be prioritized over networks with just the 'prefer' level. Prefer Networks with this preference will be preferred, if possible, over networks with no preference. Don’t care Neutral, no preference whatsoever. The default preference level, when no level is set. This status is not visible. Networks to avoid Lessens preference, network is only used if there are no other options. Exclude Networks with this preference will be entirely excluded from planning. Remove preference To remove any preference, avoidance or exclusion, tap the 'X' button the right of the preference options.

Why can I not set up the ABRP Apple Watch app?As the ABRP Apple Watch app is a Premium feature, first make sure you're logged into your ABRP account and that you have an active Premium subscription or trial. If you’re still experiencing issues with launching the ABRP app on your Apple watch please do the following; 1. Perform the setup process by first opening the ABRP app on your iPhone and then opening the ABRP app on your watch. Let the connection be established for a moment before touching the watch screen at all. Once you see that we’ve established the connection and the app is displaying data you may scroll and swipe. 2. Should it still not work as intended you may try to uninstall and re-install the watch app. You may do this by visiting the ‘Watch’ app on your iOS device. In the Watch app, scroll down to the ‘installed on apple watch section’, select ABRP and toggle off the ‘Show App on Apple Watch’ option. Next, go back and now scroll further down to the ‘available apps’ section. Here, find ABRP and click ‘install’. After this, you may retry step 1 as described above.

What is 'Reference Consumption'?The reference consumption value in ABRP is a base value measured at a constant speed of 110 km/h (or 65 mph) in near perfect conditions (wind, temperature, road etc.). When we calculate a plan for you, we'll take into account the elevation changes, temperature and speeds throughout the route to estimate your consumption on top of the already calculated reference consumption throughout the route. Reference consumption can either be displayed and entered as: A) Energy consumption per driven distance unit Wh/km @ 110 km/h or Wh/mi @ 65 mph B) Distance possible to drive per energy unit km/kWh @ 110 km/h or mi/kWh @ 65 mph Bear in mind which unit has been selected when manually adjusting the value. Typically the value for unit type A would range between 100-350 depending on the selected vehicle while unit type B normally should have a value between 2-5. The unit type can easily be changed by clicking the displayed unit and the entered value will automatically be converted.

[general]As trailers and other additions can be very different in design and, therefore, also elevate your consumption differently, estimating your consumption would require more information than simply the added weight. We take the weight into account for how much pressure is put on your tires, for instance, but there's no easy way of determining the amount of air resistance your specific trailer has in combination with your car model. We would like to make these scenarios easier for our users to plan and estimate, but we're not quite there yet. However, if you have a vehicle for which connecting via OBD is supported, we’ll be able to calibrate your reference consumption, and as a premium user, you do have access to the configurations feature. Thus, we'd suggest doing the following; 1. Go into; Settings > Car model 2. Click the vehicle model. Make sure to select the correct vehicle 3. (If you do not have a standard configuration added for your car, first create one) 4. Then you may add another one for when you're driving with a trailer In short, different configurations let you set different settings profiles. But more importantly, we'll be able to have different consumption values calibrated for each configuration. All you'll need to do is ensure that the proper configuration is selected and live data is connected, and then you can drive as we calibrate the value. Perhaps not the most straightforward process for preparation, but it can be very nifty if you switch between driving without and with a trailer often. The other alternative for you would be to manually set a higher value for your reference consumption, but this is also more difficult to guess correctly.

How can I add a ferry manually?As ABRP aims to produce the fastest trip for you by default, sometimes ferries are not considered. However, you can tell ABRP to add them manually; Zoom into the harbour of departure Right-click (on web) or long press (in the app) on the ferry line you wish to add to drop a marker Select 'add ferry line' Plan and it'll be included in the trip!

What do the labels 'alpha' and 'beta' on vehicle models mean?We use these labels to indicate the confidence-level and accuracy of our vehicle models, here's what they mean; Alpha - Modeled manually by us, these are generally closely matched to the EPA and WLTP range provided by the manufacturer, but won't be a perfect representation of the car.
